We are on the home stretch in preparing for the arrival of our chicks in early April.
We passed our coop inspection a week ago Thursday, and yesterday the kids and I ran around town gathering things like bedding for the brooder box, a metal trash can for the chicken feed, and other important chicken-related items. I am already wishing we would have gotten a permit for more than 6 hens!
Tomorrow we are meeting a friendly neighbor who offered to let us come see what kinds of chickens they keep. I discovered that he and his wife are doing the coolest project ever--trying to grow one ton of food on their urban lot in a one year period.
I'm even more inspired!
